Domnul Waters e mai poet decât mulţi poeţi. Domnul Waters e parte din nebunia numită Pink Floyd. Astăzi, domnul Waters împlineşte 68 de ani şi noi nu vrem decât să îi spunem La Mulţi Ani, domnule Waters! Şi să vă amintim de versurile lui pentru că, nu-i aşa, domnul Waters e mare poet.
De exemplu, Shine on you crazy diamond are versuri scrise de Waters. Sigur ştiţi, dar vă reamintesc – melodia este un tribut adus lui Syd Barret care, să fim sinceri, o luase uşor razna. Şi dacă luăm doar titlul e minunat.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
Şi în cazul Wish you were here tot vocea interioară a lui Waters e. De fapt, melodia asta are ceva ciudat, zice chiar el – totul porneşte de la versuri.
Either the music comes first and the lyrics are added, or music and lyrics come together. Only once have the lyrics been written down first — ‘Wish You Were Here’. But this is unusual; it hasn’t happened before.

Şi da, Comfortably Numb! E una dintre cele mai tari melodii din toate timpurile, dacă mă întrebaţi pe mine. Waters descrie perfect experienţa de a fi aproape anesteziat, tranchilizat, absent.

A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can’t hear what you’re saying.
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I’ve got that feeling once again

Şi vă las cu un moment special, când, după mult timp, Gilmour a apărut pe aceeaşi scenă cu Waters. Anul acesta la Londra. Happy Birthday, Mr Waters!
Waters este un geniu.
Am ramas insa fan Pink Floyd si dupa despartire. Nu sunt de acord cu cei care neaga tot ce a facut ulterior Gilmore.
Si nu doar consecventa ma face sa spun asta, ci si fatpul ca cealalt jumatate de Pink Floyd, chiar stirba, a ramas valoroasa. Parerea mea.

Nici mie nu-mi place lupta asta intre fanii lui Waters si fanii lui Gilmour. Ambii sunt geniali, ar fi minunat sa fie din nou pe aceeasi scena. Mai mult decat o data. 🙂
